“I will always seek to understand you. And even if I cannot understand you, I will still respect you."
The difficulty of this week’s theme arises from its broadness. In one sense, the wide definition of All Together does expand the tools available for lesson creation. However, in a much more prominent sense, the broadness opens the doorway to half-baked lesson plans that lack substance. Please try your hardest to have students leave with something more than “Teamwork is good.”
Within older groups, this theme has a similar potential to be taught without nuance. Yes, teamwork is “good.” But we can do better. Seek to find conversations which yield a more dynamic and mature understanding of how to value and work with differing perspectives.
